Title: Joop! Real men wear pink

Year: 2012

genre: males/men

reference: http://www.thedrum.com/news/2012/05/15/joop-homme-continue-sponsorship-fxuk-drama

signified: Joop spray

signifier: attraction

The joop spray is the main item in this image that tells the observer what the advert is about. With out the joop spray it would be hard for someone to observe what is happening in this image. The typgraphy matches the colour of the joop spray and the background also matches with the joop. The colours coordinate well through out this advertisement.

Title: little wild

year: no

genre: general public

reference: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/66/a2/9f/66a29f0aad2726e1546aa597915f3ca6.jpg

signified: The soft drink with a burst of fruity flavours

signifier: colourful bottle

With this image, the advert is based on rasberry flavoured coke. An observer knows this due to the cherries coming out of the coke bottle, and even the labelling on the coke bottles that say rasperry is another hint. Without the cherries and the labellng on the bottles that say rasperry, it would almost be impossible for an observer to define the advertisement. If it was not for the cherries and the word rasperry printed on the coke bottles, the text would be completley unclear and the observer would most likely queston the identity of the text being used.

Title: Wildflower

year: 2014

genre: females

reference: http://blogs.harrisdulwichgirls.org.uk/ettas/2014/05/11/photoshop-perfume-advert/comment-page-1/

Compositional interpretation: There are a variety of colours used in this image such as blues, violet, purple, pink, red and white which all appear to be feminine colours. The main icon in this image appears to be the womens wild flower perfume. The purpose of this image is to persue women to purchase this product and that if they do they will look as good as the women in this image above. The camera angle appears to be taken as a medium shot perspective, which show the womens head, sholders and upper torso.

Title: Giorgio Armani

year: 1996

Genre: males

reference: http://www.theperfumegirl.com/perfumes/fragrances/giorgio-armani/acqua-di-gio/

Compositional interpretation:

The colours in this image appear to be grey, white and black. The contrast appears mostly dark and the main icon in this image appears to be the men’s perfume. The body language of the men in this image looks very confident and relaxed. The target audience in this image would mainly be men as this is a mens perfume. The men in this image appears to be looking straight out of the image itself, focusing on the audience. From observing the image very closely, there seems to be a medium shot taken from a camera ( that is the image that shows the face and sholders but not quite the body).
